OUR HISTORY

The Grenada Community Library and Resource Centre, formerly known as the Mt. Zion library, non- profit organization occupies a historical building known as Peniel House, conveniently located at # 7 Lucas Street opposite the Law office of Henry, Henry & Bristol.

The Library was established in 2013 through the efforts of acclaimed Caribbean and internationally-published author Oonya Kempadoo, a faith- based organization, Mt Zion Full Gospel Revival, and a social-action collective Groundation Grenada, all of whom recognized the urgent need for a public library with the sentiment “Can you imagine a nation without a public library?” The Grenada National Public library was closed in 2011 since damaged by a past catastrophic hurricane. The main objective is to empower the youths of Grenada.

WELCOME!

Big thanks to our patron Mr. James Bristol, the Library was gifted a home in 2017.

Our Philosophy

With knowledge, community, love and respect we grow like a collection of good books into a treasure for this generation and those to come.

Knowledge grows not only from books but from consciously seeking it in others and our environment.

Be conscious, respectful and wise in this Centre and you will leave with much more than books.
